I'll stick to whisky as I don't prefer the extra sweetness personally, but I'd recommend anyone to try this. While perfectly enjoyed neat, the complex flavours of Mount Gay rums blend exquisitely into cocktails. MGDCB definitely wins this from the complexity point of view, but I know I will definitely be nostalgic about the MGBB’s flavour profile especially paired with the amazing value for money. I was fortunate enough to have visited the Mount Gay distillery about 15 years ago and had some rum ice cream for the first time, sipping this fine rum brought back some great memories. Rum however, is at the top of my tree - not that spiced malarkey that in my opinion is spiced purely for the purpose of disguising what is essentially crap rum. The first-class Black Barrel Rum by Mount Gay from Barbados flows into the brightly polished glass in a strong amber hue. I'm used to drinking rum as a mixer with coke when I'm out, the standard much sweeter, lower alcohol content ones.
