About this deal

As much as they try to escape (riding ostriches, rolling in giant transparent balls, running in the desert, or sliding in craters), Ruth, Spaceboy, and Yuri end up in a top-secret US military base, caught by the faceless figures who happen to be soldiers in special costumes. The story itself was both fun and wacky as well as being educational as it was based on real events.

Schock, a half-human-half-robot scientist who used to build rockets for the Führer and was offered a deal by the Americans after the war: he would not go to trial if he worked on the US space programme. He has gone on to take the children’s literary world by storm, dominating sales charts and twice winning the National Book Awards Children’s Book of the Year.

I liked Yuri and Ruth and feel like this book has potential for sequels of adventures and even prequels of Spaceboy and Ruth's lives prior to them meeting. Thrown into a bouncing, flying, racing, falling, but fabulously fun adventure, Ruth does everything she can to keep her first real friend (besides Yuri) safe. Ebooks fulfilled through Glose cannot be printed, downloaded as PDF, or read in other digital readers (like Kindle or Nook). I enjoyed the spaceboy my favourite bit was when Ruth sed to ant Dorothy don,t be a dork and the best bit was when they where in the space ship and Kevin sed the countdown and it was very funny when Yuri the dog bit Kevin,s Grampa in the bum and another funny bit when the president of USA hit the golf ball at the major majors back of his head and then hi was nocked out and then fell on all his batches on the floor then it was funny when I saw the president hi was ferry little The president and then there was a slave who was as taller then the president.

The book is a chapter book but it is equally also a picture book as half of the content is illustrative. Until one night, Ruth creeps out of bed in the attic room of her rickety old farmhouse to watch the stars – and is just dozing off when she spots something blazing across the sky. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. It introduces us to a daredevil girl who is a science nerd and not afraid to stand up for herself or her friends. Some cultural stereotypes crop up as well which I believe Walliams has also been pulled up on in his World's Worst Children/Teachers books.

I also loved all the illustrations because they helped bring the story to life, especially the ones at the end. Consenting to these technologies will allow us to process data such as browsing behaviour or unique IDs on this site. Not just because it's a different illustrator but he has changed how he illustrates, with some of the illustrations drawn in the style of a comic. Ruth and Yuri make their way to the crash site on the farm, and pull a strange creature from the wreckage.
